Listening test

Section 1. A father talked over the phone with a children’s activity centre representative.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Section 2. About a museum on Waikehe Island in New Zealand.
Questions: multiple choice, match headings to paragraphs.

Section 3. A student and professor talked about a research project about Ife head sculptures in Nigeria.
Questions: multiple choice.

Section 4. A talk about absenteeism.
Questions: filling in blanks.

Reading test

Passage 1. An article regarding resort development in Queensland.
Questions: filling in blanks, multiple choice.

Passage 2. An article about robots and children.
Questions: filling in blanks, multiple choice, match statements to paragraphs.

Passage 3. About dolphins and their intelligence.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a bar graph showing the average housing prices in Perth and Sydney in 2000, 2005 and a projection for 2015. Another pie chart was showing home ownership in Australia among 30-35 population age group.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people believe that universities should focus on providing academic skills, while others think that universities should prepare students for their real future careers. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
