IELTS test in Nepal and Australia – September 2015 (Academic Module)

Two IELTS test takers from Nepal and Australia (thank you, R and A!) remembered the following about their recent, apparently identical exams:

Listening testIELTS test in Australia

Section 1. A women talked to an agent about booking a holiday house for her family.

Section 2. A student and a teacher discussed prospective courses and a college.

Section 3. A photographer talked about red squirrels and his photography project.

Section 4. A professor talked about the Brazilian rain forest and mapping.

Reading test

Passage 1. About agriculture, the use of chemicals and organic farming.

Passage 2. About insects, such as wasps and beetles.

Passage 3. About the solar system and evolution of planets.

Writing test

Writing task 1 (a report)

We were given a multiple line graph showing the percentage of Australian population using the Internet, mobile and landline phones as well as post offices, by different age groups in 2011.

Writing task 2 (an essay)

Some people believe that free housing should be provided by the government for under-privileged and people who can’t afford to buy a house. To what extent do you agree and disagree with the statement? Give examples based on your own experience.
